Outer Banks Vaca!

Well, we're back! We've been winding back down from our week of fun in the sun in North Carolina. We rented a large house with several friends for the week. The spot was beautiful, ocean front, with dolphins swimming by daily. Haley absolutely loved the beach (and the pool) and was a fish the entire time we were there. She also had 5 "friends" to play with all day so it really was a wonderful week for her. We are spending the rest of July trying to stay cool (it was a record 102 degrees her yesterday) and visiting with family on the weekends. Sara is trying to savor every day being home with Haley and they have been having lots of day time adventures. Side note: Mike is having knee surgery next Wednesday, so for once Haley will be taking care of Daddy :)

Our first day, we had lots of time to kill waiting for our house~ ice cream helped!

Bring on the Summer!

At the end of a very busy June we are starting to slow down and looking forward to the upcoming summer months. I (Sara) am as excited as I have been ever been to have this summer off! I look forward to spending it with my very active, intentional, inquisitive 2 year old!

We kick started the summer last weekend by taking our first "family" trip to NYC. Although we didn't make it back to the spot of our engagement, we made some new memories with Haley and her Aunt Leanne and "Uncle" Mark. They were gracious enough to put us up for 2 nights, and although I believe they thought we were kidding when we said Haley is up by 6 am no matter what times she goes to bed, they were excellent hosts. Here are a few photos of recent "summer activities" and out trip to the Big Apple.

Haley went to her first RedWings (minor) baseball game, Haley and her friend Mallory had front row seats.

Park, fountain, and apple juice...what else do you need?

FAO seemed like a good idea, but "mine" was Haley's favorite word, the baby aisle was a little much!

Of course we couldn't get out without buying Haley her new FAO bear "Apple"

Shopping in the Big Apple is exhausting! Don't we all wish we could just lay down and nap sometimes?

Sorry it's been so long...

Sorry it's been so long since our last post. After a few scoldings from some of our followers, I finally had some time to sit down and do an update. The good news... we have been so busy, trying to keep up with our (almost) 2 year old. Haley will turn 2 years old on Wednesday and since we have already had our family celebration it will be a quiet one.  Here are a few recent pics and "events".

For the second year, Team Haley J represented at the Golisano's STROLL For STRONG KIDS!

Hopefully Haley will be artistic like her Daddy, she sure likes to draw (pens are preferred)
Mike, Haley, and Sara Ran a 5K together before the team Stroll.

Haley had a "princess party" with her cousins (Georgia, Jade, Destiny and Addy)

Sharing the princess beads?!?

Everyone at the race loved Haley's "stats"

Happy Summer Everyone!! Haley is looking forward to lots of ice cream...

Marchin' Along

We have been busy, to say the least. Haley had PE ear tubes put in over two weeks ago and we have been ear infection free since then :0)

Shortly after her procedure, she took her first trip on an airplane to Atlanta to visit friends and celebrate Baby Enzo's baptism. With Mike being a very proud Godfather it was so fun to take a little trip as a family and for once Haley wasn't the "little baby". There were plenty of babies there and she loved it!

Last weekend, Grandma and Papa B. came to Rochester to visit. They haven't seen Haley since Christmas vacation and so needless to say she has changed quite a bit in 2 1/2 months. We spent some quality time with them and took Haley to the Strong Museum of Play. It was the first time she was able to really participate in the activities and we can't wait to bring her back.

Other than that we are just trying to make it to Spring, we saw a glimmer and it was encouraging...

uneventful February!

This month is flying by and as Winter break begins (for Sara and Haley) it seems March is almost here. Haley has been suffering back to back ear infections and is on her 4th round of antibiotics. We bring her back on the 28th and it sounds as though getting tubes is in her future.  We did get to Syracuse the weekend of Mike's birthday to celebrate that along with Valentine's day. Gramma and Papa J babysat so we could go out for a nice dinner at Scotch & Sirloin, yummy! Hopefully March will bring some milder weather and Haley can start to venture outside a bit more often.

LET MARCH MADNESS BEGIN!!!

Baby it's COLD outside!

We all have a bit of the winter blues. Haley had her first ear infection and has been struggling with a cough for a few months now. Per recommendation from her doctor, we are trying a few home remedies to see if we can alleviate the cough prior to doing more tests (chest x-rays etc.) as we hope it is environmental/seasonal and not viral or allergies. With that said, she is keeping us very busy and her ailments have not slowed her down too much. We have been doing our best to stay busy. The video was during a trip to the mall recently.
